With TM88 of the 808 Mafia both a regular Wiz Khalifa contributor and a Three 6 Mafia fan, this collaborative project was the producer's dream gig, and now the world, mostly strip clubs, can benefit from it as well. Like the cover art infers, TGOD Mafia: Rude Awakening is a wonderful blend of Wiz's party-time weed rap mixed with the darkness of Juicy J's Three 6 Mafia past plus the twerktastic sound of his solo career. Add to that TM88's tight beats, which are usually used by Gucci Mane, and the LP is a hedonistic blast of futuristic strip club music and electro stoner cuts, including the wonderful "Medication" ("The only thing I hate about drugs is the preparation/I ain't got no patience with my medication"). The grinding "All Night" is more addictive than the list of drugs that makes up the song's hook, while "Breaking News" sounds like a remix off Three 6 Mafia's Most Known Unknown with Wiz added to the track, and those are both meant as high praise. The only thing not so rude about this awakening is the big track list, which runs too long for those who prefer partying all night/every night as a fantasy and not a lifestyle, but it's a minor complaint for a release that plays it loose and wild, and one that will surely improve any trap music lover's weekend.
