This second solo release by Spanish rocker Loquillo after he finally disbanded his group of 25 years, the Trogloditas, in 2007 is actually a continuation of his work with composer Gabriel Sopeña, with whom he had made two acclaimed albums in the 1990s adapting poems by authors such as Pablo Neruda, Octavio Paz, and Jorge Luis Borges. Su Nombre Era el de Todas las Mujeres is the third entry in the series, and differs from its predecessors in that it is entirely dedicated to a single author, the controversial contemporary Spanish poet Luis Alberto de Cuenca. The ever ironic Loquillo shares an obvious affinity with Cuenca's writings, and sounds positively inspired in this collection of driving rock tunes arranged and produced by the singer's longtime collaborator Jaime Stinus. The album was released in a CD-plus-book format, including all the texts and illustrations by Fernando Pereira.
