The two women and one man of the powerful new Seattle trio Helms Alee make far more noise than you’d expect from so few. NIGHT TERROR is the culmination of all of the experience they’ve collectively accumulated in numerous bands, among them Harkonen, Roy, and These Arms Are Snakes. At times hypnotic and meditative, the music also explodes into frequent volcanic bouts of heaviness. “A New Roll” embodies all the dramatic mood swings, traveling from a jangling buildup to thrusting, metallic crunch and dramatic, roaring vocals, all before entering a cloudless area of shoegazer pop adorned with female voices.

The two women and one man of the powerful new Seattle trio Helms Alee make far more noise than you’d expect from so few.
