Taken alone, freed from the overbearing, eventually irritating bombast of The Good Will Out in total, any individual track from it sounds splendid. Therefore, the thunderous orchestra in the background of this isolated A-side opus sounds rather provocative here, whereas on the LP it was just another example of can't-take-any-more excess. But for $10 in the U.S., we better get something strong with it, and thankfully, once again Embrace save their less-imperious, less-bloated, less-overstuffed tracks for their B-sides. The slow and gentle, too-short "Feelings I Thought You Shared" is twilight-comely, and "Don't Turn Your Back on Love" sounds like a newer, less-Oasis-with-a-gentle-singer approach, as the frozen pipe-organ contrasts nicely with the cranky lead guitar in the bridge. As usual, Danny McNamara sings with sweet tones in a commanding voice.
