Sixsteps Records' first new signing in nine years fits perfectly alongside the rest of the label roster: Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Charlie Hall, and Matt Redman. It's almost too perfect of a match, in fact. Like all other artists associated with Louie Giglio's Passion movement, Kristian Stanfill creates high-energy buoyant worship rock that gets toes tapping and hands clapping. And Stanfill is a master of the craft, penning songs that were meant for nothing else than to be sung at summer worship festivals by tens of thousands of collegians in unison. His debut transparently targets Generation Y and millennials who relate to his charm and straightforward approach to modern worship. The only regret is that there is little to distinguish him from the rest of the Sixsteps family. The album never really finds its identity and ultimately suffers as a result.
