Tessa Ia
The daughter of Mexican soap opera legend Nailea Norvind, Mexican singer and actress Tessa Ía González Norvind (born on April 3, 1995), better known as Tessa Ía, was practically born into the spotlight. Her acting career began at the age of 9 with the teenage soap opera Rebelde in 2004 and further raised her profile on Guillermo Arriaga Jordán’s The Burning Plain (2008), where she shared the screen with the likes of Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lawrence. Four years later, González Norvind had her big breakthrough moment as Alejandra in Michel Franco’s Después de Lucía, which won the Un Certain Regard award at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012. Preceded by the singles “Acicálame,” “Búfalo,” and “Ultravioleta,” the indie pop stylings of Correspondencia saw the light in 2016 and were quickly followed by a cameo on Los Ángeles Azules’ hit single “Hermoso Bebé” off of their double-platinum album De Plaza En Plaza. After a couple of appearances at the Vive Latino, Machaca, and Ceremonia festivals, González Norvind dropped the EP Breve, which featured the Carla Morrison duet “Tú y Yo,” and a sequel entitled Breve II in 2020.
