Manu Militari

Born on May 21, 1979 in Quebec City (Canada), Manu Militari is a Quebec rapper. He began his career with the group Rime Organisé from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, he released his first EP, Manu Dratic. In 2004, he contributed to the album Règlements de Compte by his former group Rime Organisé. His debut album, Voix de Fait , was released on February 28, 2006. That same year, he received two nominations at the ADISQ gala in the hip-hop album of the year and songwriter of the year categories. The following year, he won three awards at the M-U gala: album of the year, artist of the year and music video of the year for the song " L'Empreinte ". Manu Militari released his second album, Crime d'Honneur , on December 1, 2009. The following year, he won the Félix for Hip-Hop Album of the Year at the ADISQ gala. In July 2011, he won the Prix Miroir at the Festival d'été de Québec. September 2012 saw the release of Marée Humaine, following controversy over the song " L'Attente ", released earlier that year, in which the singer impersonates an Afghan insurgent. Pressure from the government led to the song being withdrawn from the album before it went on sale. The album wins a Félix award in the hip-hop album of the year category. In 2015, he releases his fourth album, Océan , with the hit " Peace and Love ". In October 2016, Manu Militari presents his first book, Le Sourire de Leticia . In December 2021, he releases the opus Nouvelle Vague under his new record label: Les Productions Grande Plume. In March 2023, he launches a new single entitled Ours en cage with rapper Gxlden.
