Julión Álvarez Y Su Norteño Banda

Julión Álvarez y Su Norteño Banda are a regional Mexican band from the state of Sinaloa. Born on April 11, 1983, Álvarez is the frontman. Associated with the Universal Latino subsidiary label Machete Music, Álvarez y Su Norteño Banda experienced commercial success with their debut full-length release on the label, Corazón Mágico (2007). The album featured the hit "Las Mulas de Moreno." In the wake of this success, two live albums were released: Desde Mazatlan: A Mover el Culito (2008, Machete Music), and Cumbia del Río (2008, Disa), an odd album comprised of live recordings plus three versions of the title track. With a succession of hit recordings during the 2010s, Álvarez became one of the leading figures in norteño music. He was nominated for several Latin Grammys and served as a judge for the talent show La Voz... Mexico. Their 2017 album, Ni Diablo Ni Santo was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category for Best Regional Mexican Music Album (Including Tejano).
