Jazz Band Ball Orchestra
Formed in 1962 at the Music Academy of Krakow in Poland, The Jazz Band Ball Orchestra (JBBO) has become one of the longest running and best known European jazz groups. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1966. Their second album, also called The Jazz Band Ball Orchestra, was released in 1972. They followed that album with Home in 1974. By 1979 and their album Tribute to Duke Ellington, the JBBO began touring internationally, appearing at the Jazz Jubilee in Sacramento, California plus dates in Florida, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and even in Canada. Over the years, they’ve played many festivals around the world including performance in the Netherlands, France, Norway, Switzerland, and many other countries. They continued to release a series of albums including Flying Home (1989), What’s New (1993), 45 Years After (2013), and Black and Tan Fantasy (featuring Stanley Breckenridge (2017).
