Jang Nara

Multi-talented Seoul-born artist Jang Na-ra (born on March 8, 1981) unveiled her debut album First Story in 2001, with ballad-like album tracks “Confession” and “April Story” winning over fans and lighting up the charts. However, her second album Jang Nara Vol.2 Sweet Dream, released in October 2002, really helped Na-ra's career to take off. Her track “Sweet Dream” shot to Number 1 in South Korea and her album was among South Korea’s best-sellers. Following on from Na-ra's commercial success, in 2002 she picked up two gongs at Seoul's Daesang awards for Top Artist, and in 2003 scooped the Korean Singer of the Year prize at China's CCTV-MTV Awards. Successfully straddling both the Chinese and Korean music scenes, Na-ra released four Chinese-language albums between 2005 and 2012. Her last album, the multi-lingual Dream of Asia, which also includes songs in Japanese and English, came out in 2008 and in 2012 she made a comeback with the single "I Only Think Of You", also releasing her fourth Chinese-language album, Love Journey. In 2014, stage phobia forced Na-ra to put her singing career on hold for four years, but she returned in May 2018 to perform “Sweet Dream”, “I am A Woman Too” and “April Story” on South Korean TV series Sugar Man.
