Jacqueline Taïeb

Indistinguishable from her 1967 hit "7 heures du matin", Jacqueline Taïeb (born 1948 in Tunis) set herself apart from the yé-yé singers of the day with a tone in tune with guitar-driven rock from across the Channel. This first attempt at a classic, frequently used in sixties compilations and commercials, was not followed up by a series of EPs ("Mais qu'est-ce qu'on se marre à la fac") and albums released by the singer, who also wrote for Michel Fugain and Dana Dawson. The French Mademoiselle (2002), a compilation of her early work, was followed by the comeback album Jacqueline Taïeb Is Back (2005) and the tribute to her hero Jacqueline Taïeb Sings Elvis (2013).
