Heidi Montag
Heidi Montag's empowering, club-friendly dance-pop embodies the passion she had for music long before she became a reality television personality. Toward the end of her breakout six-season run on MTV's The Hills, she released her debut album, 2010's Superficial; its confident dance-pop landed on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart and produced the dance hit "More Is More." By the late 2010s, the growing appreciation for Y2K-era pop made Superficial a cult favorite. When her 2010 track "I'll Do It" became a viral social media hit in 2023, Montag seized the moment, reissuing songs such as "Body Language" and "Touch Me" in 2024 as she worked on new music.
A Colorado native, Montag made her national television debut as a teenager on the reality show MTV's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. She played a bigger role on its spinoff The Hills; airing from 2006 to 2010, the show made Montag a celebrity. During its run, she began recording music inspired by Britney Spears and Janet Jackson, with self-released singles including "No More" appearing in 2007 and 2008. In April 2009, Montag self-released her first EP, Wherever I Am, then made her Warner debut with that August's "Body Language," which she performed at that year's Miss Universe pageant before a TV audience of a billion people.
Montag's full-length debut, Superficial, arrived on Warner in January 2010. Featuring production by the Runners (Pitbull, Nicki Minaj) and Chris Rojas (Big Time Rush) and songwriting by Cathy Dennis and Stacy Barthe among others, the record landed on the Heatseekers Albums chart in the U.S. Meanwhile, the Dave Audé remix of "More Is More" became a Top 30 dance hit. The singer followed it with non-album singles like "Sex Ed" and "Trash Me."
In June 2012, Montag self-released the EP Dreams Come True, and she returned to pop music with the 2019 single "Glitter and Glory." When the Superficial track "I'll Do It" garnered billions of streams on social media in 2023, she re-released songs including "Body Language," "Bad Boy," and "Touch Me" that year and in 2024. Alongside her work in television and Speidi's 16th Minute, her podcast with her husband Spencer Pratt, Montag started work on a new set of songs.
