Gold Up
Canadian DJ and production duo Gold Up mix elements of dancehall, Afrobeats, and reggaeton into their music, and they also fold in a variety of Jamaican artists to provide the vocals.
Based in both Canada and Jamaica, the duo consists of French producer Raph and Canadian DJ Zach Ariyah. Their debut single, "Belong with Me," dropped in 2018, and boasted a collaboration with Shenseea. Their vision was better displayed on their 2020 debut album, Prelude, which featured artists from Jamaica, Canada, Trinidad, and Ghana. A second album, 2022's Introduction, featured a plethora of big-name collaborators including Wale, Elephant Man, and Beenie Man.
