Bamby

Born on September 11, 1991 in French Guiana, Bamby was given this name by her family from an early age, to the point where she decided many years later to make it her artistic pseudonym. Before that, the little girl developed a passion for dance and song, humming along at the slightest opportunity. By the age of three, she had memorized songs from Whitney Houston albums, which her mother listened to over and over again. She was only in fifth grade when she took part in a casting to provide backing vocals on an album by Guyanese singer Francis Nugent. Eventually, the young teenager met Wendy Torvic at her school, when she started sixth grade. The latter would later become the singer Jahyanai, making a name for himself in 2012 with the single "Bubblin". In 2015, he convinced Gamby to get serious about singing. He then helped her make her first video in 2017 for her song "Real Wifey", in a musical universe blending reggae and above all dancehall. Encouraged by this initial success, Bamby went on to release several singles, again with the help of her mentor Jahyanai, including "Fix Up" in 2015, "Run Di Place" in 2016 and above all "Who Mad Again" in 2017, which became a hit. This was followed by "Bad from Mi Born" in 2018 and "Sugar Daddy" in 2019.
