Lotusflow3r is beperkt door zijn gitaar gedreven concept, en biedt geweldige momenten aan in plaats van hele nummers. Dit suggereert dat Lotusflow3r momenten van razernij heeft vergelijkbaar met de afsluitende solo van “Let’s Go Crazy” of de glorieuze passie van “Purple Rain,” maar het Hendrixachtige “Dreamer” daargelaten, is dit album bijna net zo glad als Elixer, waarop zelfs de geknepen vuistpompende riff van “Feel Good, Feel Better, Feel Wonderful” al gauw ruimte maakt voor een vriendelijke funk work-out. “Vriendelijk” definieert Lotusflow3r eigenlijk bijna helemaal. Het komt uiteindelijk bijna allemaal aan op groove en vluchtige stukjes van zes snarige kleur, wat misschien genoeg is voor de getrouwen, maar voor vele anderen niet.
