Giovanni Truppi

Giovanni Truppi (February 21, 1981) is an Italian singer-songwriter from Naples. He made his solo debut in 2010 with the album C'è un me dentro di me, released by the indie label Cinico Disincanto. A second album titled Il mondo è come te lo metti in testa appeared in 2013 and was followed by an eponymous full-length in 2015 that helped him win the Tenco Award for Best Emerging Artist. In 2017, his song "Amori che non sanno stare al mondo," featured in the film of the same name, received a nomination for Best Original Song at the Nastri d'Argento Awards. Boasting a more polished pop sound than its predecessors, Poesia e civiltà appeared in 2019 and reached Number 75 on the Italian Albums Chart. Featuring collaborations with Calcutta, La Rappresentante di Lista, Niccolò Fabi, and Brunori Sas, the EP 5 came out in 2020. After releasing the single "L'avventura" in 2021, Giovanni Truppi participated in the 2022 Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Tuo padre, mia madre, Lucia," which placed nineteenth in the competition.
