Jennifer Cardini

A longtime champion of electro, house, and minimal techno, Jennifer Cardini is a well-respected DJ, producer, and label owner originally from France. Though she has released the occasional 12", her reputation was earned mostly on the strength of her DJ skills. Blending techno, electro, and disco, she has delivered energetic DJ sets at countless notable clubs and festivals throughout the world, from Berlin's Panorama Bar to Burning Man. Her notable mixes include 2008's Kompakt-issued Feeling Strange and her 2017 Boiler Room appearance. She launched the leftfield dance label Correspondant in 2011, and co-founded Dischi Autunno in 2017. Cardini grew up in the Southern French city of Nice. She started going to raves as a teenager and began spinning house records around 1994. She released her first single, "Trash Cocktail," in 1996. She moved to Paris in 1998 and became a resident DJ at famed lesbian nightclub Pulp, along with other significant DJs such as Chloé and Ivan Smagghe. Her status grew from there, and she soon began playing gigs around the globe, in addition to releasing mix CDs Electroniculture, Vol. 2 (2001) and Lust (2005), as well as singles on Crosstown Rebels, Mobilee, and Dirt Crew. Eventually relocating to Cologne, Germany, Cardini became Kompakt's first female signee when her mix CD Feeling Strange was released in 2008. In 2011, she released mix CD Rexperience #02 and launched her Correspondant label, which issued 12"s by the Hacker and Red Axes, as well as In the Ballroom, her 2014 collaboration with David Shaw. Based in Berlin by this point, she co-founded another label, Dischi Autunno, with Noura Labbani in 2017.
