Canadian hardcore band Counterparts offer more entries from their journals of anger, pain, and struggle on their fourth studio album, 2015's Tragedy Will Find Us. The attack from guitarists Jesse Doreen and Adrian Lee is as precise as ever, with plenty of hard riffing and multiple breakdowns, while Kelly Bilan's drumming and Brian Kaczmarczyk's bass work keep the band's rhythms moving at bone-shattering velocity. The rage and defiance of Brendan Murphy's roaring vocals haven't faded a bit since the band debuted in 2007, and Tragedy Will Find Us confirms that while Counterparts are growing more mature and precise, their vision remains consistent, and the bitter howl of Tragedy Will Find Us should surely satisfy the group's fans.
