Enigma creates strange and unusual music through the use of diverse influences and styles. Sadeness, Pt. 1 is an EP of four mixes of that track from MCMXC A.D. These compositions and mixes spring from completely opposite styles. Enigma mixes Gregorian chants with techno rhythms, ambient atmospheres, and smooth vocals. It is the juxtapositions that make the variations work. The final track on the EP is the Gregorian chant with no additional styles. This CD will appeal to fans of Vox, 2002, Loreena McKennitt, and Enchantment.

Hip-Hop: 8 Legendary Producers

Can we imagine Guru without DJ Premier and De La Soul without Prince Paul? Behind every iconic rapper and cult group, there is a visionary producer who learned from his predecessors and developed his own sound. From the pioneer Marley Marl, who laid the foundations for modern production by showing what could be done with the first samples, to the shooting star J Dilla who, before his death at the age of 32, managed to leave a lasting mark on the genre, not to forget Bomb Squad’s sonic revolution and Dr Dre’s undisputed dominance on the West Coast. Here’s an overview of the studio masters that have ruled the hip-hop world for thirty years.

My Bloody Valentine, the Inner Experience

Thirty years after its release, My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless" remains the craziest album of the 90s. This electric monument in the form of a wall of sound was a product of Kevin Shields' deranged mind. It turned the history of rock upside down and remains a major source of inspiration for many musicians from all walks of life.

And then Nirvana Killed Rock

In 1987, Nirvana was born: the most unexpected punk swerve of the end of the 20th century. A rocketing career, international hits, hordes of fans and a tragic epilogue for this worldwide phenomenon. And what if Kurt Cobain’s band was none other than the last band in the history of rock? The ultimate generational phenomenon of genre, if not its last myth.
