Still as confidential, Jason Chung aka Nosaj Thing is nonetheless the subject of a true worship. Softly but surely, the one who notably counts Superpoze and Kendrick Lamar as his fans is building a body of work who imposes, month after month, it's beautiful singularity. The tinkerer from Los Angeles mixes, stretches, extends, shapes and massages his grooves with a demonic languor, and uncoils his smoky, classy, melodic and ghostly electro. Between mind-blowing trip hop and slow dubstep, cosmonauts’ soul and futurist new age, his chloroformed soundtrack, instrumental or not, doesn’t leave indifferent. His sound universe is even more open in this fourth album. Revealed by Kid Cudi in 2006, Chung has worked here with faithful collaborators (Kazu Makino, the singer from Blonde Redhead) and new ones (Zuri Marley, the daughter of Ziggy).
