The exceptional American-Estonian conductor Kristjan Järvi unveils the first album in a series that will be dedicated to him on Naïve Classique. The Balkan fever is inspired as much by gypsy and klezmer styles as by jazz and hip hop, not to mention the spirit of dance: a daring challenge taken up with panache by Kristjan Järvi, Theodosii Spassov, Vlatko Stefanovski and Miroslav Tadić. The electrifying and hypnotic atmosphere of this live recording is mixed with folk tones inspired by the Hungarian composer Zoltan Kodály, which take us to the confines of the Balkan universe. A record full of rhythm and colour under Järvi's powerful and catchy baton! © TDB/QOBUZ
