This recording was not done in New York; however, it does not matter. Venezuela's most transcendental salsa band keeps up with the times in this production. This was Oscar D'León's final foray before going out on his own, and he gives his all as usual. "Mi Sufrimiento," "Dulce Cantar," "Juancito Trucupey," and "Don Casimiro" are the final hits, displaying D'León's superior improvisations. His comrade in arms, Wladimir Lozano, is just as good on the superior "Divina Niña" and dual versions (with D'León) like "Baho Kende" are excellent. Not a final chapter for Oscar D'León, as he continued on into one of the most successful and continuous salsa careers in the world.
