It’s not easy being called Eastwood, but Kyle has managed to make a name for himself and has become an established member of the jazz scene. Since the early 90s, Clint’s son has released one album after another, double bass in hand, and has kept time to work with his father, participating as composer, musician or arranger in the soundtracks of eight of his films: La Relève, Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, Lettres from Iwo Jima, Flags of our Fathers, Changeling, Gran Torino and Invictus. With his album Eastwood Symphonic, released in September 2023, Kyle Eastwood is looking back not only at these works, but also at that of other legendary film music composers such as Lalo Schifrin, Ennio Morricone and John Williams. In an interview, Kyle Eastwood talks about the genesis of this fine album, his relationship with film music in general and his musical complicity with Clint.
