An interview with the coolest and most classic of Indie rockers…

Album after album, Kurt Vile has become a sort of American Indie Rock guru. With his slightly droopy expression the long-haired thirty-year-old uses his jaded voice as if from another time, in a way similar to that of Leonard Cohen or Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis but with his own style… If you're called Kurt Vile, even if it’s not spelt the same, you better make sure you're living up to the name. But there’s no need to make comparisons - Weill vs. Vile - between the legendary composer of L'Opéra de quat'sous and the Philadelphian songwriter.

With Bottle It In, his seventh album, he continues to give us nice laid back Folk-Rock, influenced by Crazy Horse, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Dinosaur Jr., with some Lo-Fi charm. It’s an alternative classic Rock album which Kurt Vile fills with timeless, sad yet humorous songs. During this interview he takes a look back at his new album, his collaboration with his good Australian friend Courtney Barnett and his passion for country music.
