Youssra

Real name Seveen Mohamed Hafez Nessim, Egyptian singer and actress Youssra was born in Cairo on March 10, 1955, and made her name in the cinema in the early 1980s. She has starred with the likes of Adel Imam and Ahmed Zaki, as well as Omar Sharif and Amr Diab, and has contributed to several of Youssef Chahine's nearly 100 feature films, including Alexandria Pourquoi? in 1978, Alexandria Encore et Toujours in 1990, and Alexandria-New York in 2004. Considered a glamorous icon of the Middle East and an influential voice in the region, she is very active in the fashion world, and has also made several forays into the musical sphere, notably in 1997 with the album El'leilah Holleilah, featuring the title track, "Da Habibi Da" and "Fadi", among others.
