Yan Block

Born Carlos Yandre Martín Marrero in Bayamón in 2004, Puerto Rican rapper, singer, and songwriter Yan Block grew up immersed in urban culture: his father was a renowned music video maker and worked for many of the genre's stars. In his early teens, Yan Block began taking part in freestyle competitions and in 2019 released his first single, "Suelo." Taking advantage of both his natural gifts and family connections, he quickly made inroads into the industry and was soon rubbing elbows with A-list producers such as Alejandro Armes and DJ Nelson, with whom he developed a provocative mixture of trap, drill, dancehall, and reggaeton. Between 2020 and 2024, the young pretender had worked on some 40 singles, remixes, and collaborations, including such massive hits as "WYA REMIX RED" with J Abdiel, iZaak, Jay Wheeler and De La Rose; "444" with Panda Black; "Yo Sé" with TORRRES, and the solo track "Vacile." Promoted as his first album (even if it was only 15-minutes long), Pitcher was released in 2024.
