Diablo Blvd
Named after a Corrosion of Conformity song, Diablo Blvd are a Belgian hard rock supergroup featuring members of A Brand, Born from Pain, and Meuris. Flemish comedian-turned-vocalist Alex Agnew, guitarists Andries Beckers and Dave Hubrechts, bassist Tim Bekaert, and drummer Kris Martens first came together in Antwerp in 2005, later signing with PIAS. Diablo Blvd entered the studio and released their debut album, The Greater God, in 2009, and their sophomore effort, Builders of Empires, arrived in 2011. Produced by Jens Bogren, Builders of Empires peaked on the Belgian charts at a higher position than their debut. Their third effort, Follow the Deadlights, arrived in 2014 on Sony Music, and the album hit number three on the Belgian charts. That same year, the band signed with Nuclear Blast and issued the Rise Like Lions EP. A global reissue of Deadlights followed in early 2015, just as Hubrechts parted ways with the group. Zero Hour (Nuclear Blast/Metalville) was released in 2017 and featured the singles "Animal" and "Sing from the Gallows." Influenced by Type O Negative, Black Sabbath, Killing Joke, and Sisters of Mercy, Diablo Blvd's fourth LP was their most political statement to date, inspired by global politics.
