Christian Castro - born on December 8, 1974 in Mexico City, Mexico – is a singer whose repertoire includes bolero, mariachi, rock, and alternative rock. He is considered one of the best Latin singers of his generation. Castro is also an actor and comes from an acting family: his mother is actress/singer Veronica Castro and his father is comedian Manuel ‘El Loco’ Valdés. He’s the nephew of Ramón Valdés and Germán ‘Tin-Tan’ Valdés. He made his acting debut as an infant and continued to appear in commercials and stage productions. His recording career, which began with the release of the Number 3 charting single “No podrás” in 1992, has been enormously successful and he has remained one of the best-selling Latin artists ever since. He’s had numerous hit singles on the Latin charts including “Nunca voy a olvidarte” (1993), “Mañana” (1994), “Amor” (1996), “Lo Mejor de Mi” (1997), “Volver a Amar” (1999), “Azul” (2001), and “Amor Eterno” (2005). Between 1995 and 2007 alone, he released 30 singles that landed in the Top 40. His best-selling albums include Lo major de mi (1997), Azul (2001), and Mi Amigo El Principe (2011). In 2018, Castro released the album Mi Tributo a Juan Gabriel in honor of one of his musical idols, who passed away in 2016.
