Burke
Burke is actually the shortened name of Burke Hilburn, an obnoxious punk-like singer from San Francisco who made an impact on his local scene with his angry country-rock. Utilizing a group of like-minded musicians as his backup, the group crafts tall tales about their hidden family lineage and promote an inbred image that isn't too far away from the Pogues, but with a much more fleshed-out gimmick. Their debut album, The Year of You, was released in the spring of 2002.
