Burak Yeter
Burak Yeter is a Netherlands-based producer, DJ, and remixer of Turkish descent. His music brings a global perspective to energetic, feel-good club music, combining progressive house with elements of Turkish as well as Western dance-pop and hip-hop, while maintaining awareness of important social issues. Yeter was born in Amsterdam in 1982 and began playing piano and guitar as a child. He formed hip-hop group Tatbikat in 1999, and studied civil engineering at Turkey's Akdeniz University. He developed his DJ skills, and won a DJ concert sponsored by MTV Dance in 2004. He began remixing numerous Turkish pop and dance artists, and his debut album For Action, Vol. 1 was released in 2005. For Message, Vol. 2 followed in 2007; the album's songs contained lyrics intended to raise awareness of global warming.
Yeter moved to London and attended SAE Institute, where he earned his Master's degree in sound engineering. In 2008, he became a certified DJ instructor with audio company Pioneer, and he opened DJ schools in Amsterdam, Istanbul, and Los Angeles. He established his label Connection Records in 2009, and released a double-CD (also titled Connection) that year. Yeter won two awards at the Kral TV Music Awards in 2010: Best Remix, for his mix of Ajda Pekkan's "Oyalama Beni," and Best Newcomer. He also released the full-length Maschine that year. In 2012, Yeter collaborated with G-Unit rapper Hot Rod on the song "Mr. International," and filmed his first ever-music video for the track. He also released his album Blue, and won Best Remix at the Kral TV Awards a second time, for another Pekkan remix ("Arada Sırada").
Based in Amsterdam, Yeter continued releasing numerous singles, including 2013's "Storm," 2014's "Speed of Light" (with Dawn Richard), and 2015's "Kingdom Falls." Following "Reckless," his early 2016 single with Delaney Jane, he signed to Spinnin' Records and began releasing singles under a project titled New World. He had a huge international hit with a cover of iLoveMakonnen's "Tuesday," featuring vocalist Danelle Sandoval, which charted in over 20 countries and was certified platinum in Austria, France, Germany, and Switzerland. Yeter then dipped into tropical house with his single "Go."
