Toke Lund Christiansen
This internationally noted Danish flutist debuted in Mozart's Concerto for flute in G major in 1971 with his teacher Marcel Moyse conducting the orchestra. Toke Lund Christiansen is the first solo flautist with the Danish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. He is also a lecturer at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and has published several collaborative books with the famous flutist James Galway. With Toshinori Ishihara, he edited a series of publications of flute music spanning the Classical and contemporary periods. Christiansen's repertoire has covered a wide historical range from Classical composers Haydn, Kuhlau (including his Quintets for flute and string quartet), and Beethoven to the Romantic period with Franz Schubert, the early twentieth century with Albert Roussel and Jacques Ibert, and later with Carl Nielsen and Per Nøgård.
