SeeYa

Originally marketed as the female counterpart to the boy band SG Wannabe, the South Korean all-girl group SeeYa was assembled in the early aughts by the media giants Stone Music Entertainment (formerly known as Mnet Media) and MBK Entertainment. Consisting of Kim Yeon-ji, Lee Bo-ram, and Nam Gyu-ri, SeeYa made their official debut in 2006 with the studio album The First Mind, a ballad-heavy release that managed to crack the Top 5 of South Korea's Circle Chart. More success followed with albums such as Lovely Sweet Heart (2007) and California Dream (2009), both of which peaked at Number 3 on the local albums chart and propelled the group to national fame. In 2009, Nam Gyu-ri officially left the group to focus on her acting career and was replaced by Lee Soo-mi, who made her first appearance on the Rebloom EP. During this time, the group's collaboration with fellow girl groups Davichi and T-ara, "Women's Generation," topped the South Korean mobile charts, becoming one of the most downloaded songs of 2009. Following Lee Soo-mi's departure in 2010, the group continued as a duo and released the album See You Again in 2011 before calling it quits later that year. In 2020, the group's three original members reconvened on the JTBC variety show Two Yoo Project Sugar Man and hinted at a possible reunion.
