NEMO

Nemo is best known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024 with the song "The Code". Born Nemo Mettler in Biel in the canton of Berne, Switzerland, on August 3, 1999, the artist who learned piano, violin and drums as a child made his debut in 2012 in the musical Ich war noch niemals in New York, before taking part three years later in Die grössten Schweizer talente. That same year, 2015, her debut EP Clownfisch reached #95 in the Swiss charts, while the following EP Mömant-Kids (2016), is home to the track "Himalaya" (ranked #27). This first singles success is followed a year later by the song "Du", taken from the Fundbüro EP (2017), which reaches #4. Crowned winner of the Prix Walo in the revelation of the year category, Nemo went on to win five trophies at the Swiss Music Awards, one in 2017 and four the following year, including Best Male Artist. After studying singing at Zurich University of the Arts, Nemo moved to Los Angeles in 2020, then to Berlin in 2021, abandoning the German language for English in his pop and rap songs. In 2023, the self-defined non-binary personality saw his song "The Code" selected for the Eurovision Song Contest. The song, then ranked no. 22 in Switzerland, won the competition, held on May 11, 2024 in Malmö, Sweden, with a clear lead over the other competitors.
