The German-Greek singer Vicky Leandros was born on Corfu on August 23, 1952. In July 1965, she released her debut single "Messer, Gabel, Schere, Licht ", which reached number 16 in the charts in Germany. Her debut album Songs and Folklore was released in October 1966, before she took part in the Eurovision Song Contest for Luxembourg in 1967. After several hits in Europe and overseas, she took part in the Grand Prix again in 1972 and not only reached first place with the song "Après toi (Dann kamst du)" , but also achieved great commercial success. More than 7.8 million copies of the single were sold. In Germany, her biggest hit was released in 1974 under the title "Theo, wir fahr'n nach Lodz" .
