Joalin
Joalin Loukamaa is a Finnish singer, dancer, and influencer whose music combines melancholic Scandinavian electro-pop with Latin urban beats. Born in Turku in 2001, Joalin lived for about decade in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, where she learned Spanish and became enamored with Latin culture. Upon her return to Europe, she became a member of the international teen band Now United, a Simon Fuller creation (of Spice Girls and Idol reality TV fame). Signed by the 11 Ones label, Joalin began to work on her solo material with producer Jori Sjöroos (PMMP, Magenta Skycode, Fu-Tourist). Later collected on her debut EP, I'm the One (2022), her first singles -- "Angelito," "Así Así," and "Tóxico" -- introduced her sound, a mixture of Nordic electro-pop textures with reggaeton and Latin trap stylings, mostly sung in Spanish. Having become one of Finland's most followed Internet celebrities, Joalin welcomed 2024 with the single "La Chica-cá,"
