Jelani Aryeh

A fearless singer, rapper, and songwriter with an alternative pop-R&B skew, Jelani Aryeh examines alienation and heartache to the fullest extent. The Raised by the Internet founder released a number of stray tracks and a couple EPs, namely Suburban Destinesia (2017) and Helvetica (2019), before releasing his first album, I've Got Some Living to Do (2021). Aryeh has since returned with the driving indie pop single "I'm in Love" (2024). Independent music is in Jelani Aryeh McCall's blood. His parents started a label and set up a recording studio in the family's San Diego household, fostering Aryeh's own creative and collaborative aspirations. While in high school, he assembled Raised by the Internet, a self-sustaining nationwide collective of like-minded artists inspired by crews such as Odd Future and BROCKHAMPTON. Aryeh's first commercial solo recordings arrived during 2017, the year he issued a small batch of stray tracks and Suburban Destinesia, an EP led by the characteristically fraught single "Where We Go." "Daunt" followed the next year and preceded a wave of output in 2019. Most substantial of all was a second EP, the sublime and metaphysical Helvetica. I've Got Some Living to Do, Aryeh's debut full-length, arrived in 2021 with the Strokes-inspired "Stella Brown" and livelier "Marigold" among the highlights. Aryeh resurfaced in 2024 with "I'm in Love."
