Fanny Bloom
Fanny Grosjean (March 20, 1986), better known as Fanny Bloom, is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Québec. Hailing from the town of Saint-Télesphore, she moved to Sherbrooke at the age of 12 and later co-founded the synth-pop trio La Patère Rose with Thomas Hébert and Julien Harbec in 2003. She parted ways with the group in 2011 and embarked on a solo career that started with 2012’s Apprentie Guerrière, written and recorded in tandem with composer and film director Étienne Dupuis-Cloutier. The album brought much recognition to the québécois artist and won the Prix Félix for Alternative Album of the Year. Her sophomore effort Pan saw the light in 2014 and considerably expanded her sonic palette, marrying elements of urban pop music and electro-pop (“Piscine”) with her bare-bones, confessional songwriting style (“Mémo”). A self-titled album arrived in 2014, followed by 2018’s Liqueur. That same year, she was also featured on the musical series Balade.
