Döf
Deutsch-Österreichisches Feingefühl – often referred to as DÖF – was a short-lived Neue Deutsche Welle group formed in 1983. The group was founded by Austrian comedians Joesi Prokopetz and Manfred Tauchen and featured musical assistance from German new wave artists Annette Humpe and Inga Humpe (who performed under the group names Humpe Humpe and Swimming with Sharks). The group’s first album, DÖF, was released in 1983 under the band name Tauch-Prokopetz. The album featured the hit single “Codo… düse im Sauseschritt”, which reached the Number 1 spot in Germany and Austria. The album was also a hit, although subsequent singles didn’t chart as high. The group changed their name to Deutsch-Österreichisches Feingefühl and released the album Tag und Nacht in 1985. The album failed to live up to expectations and the group split up.
