BOBBY
The South Korean rapper Bobby launched his career as a member of the K-pop boy band iKon, then enjoyed success with the Seoul Music Award-winning duo MOBB before launching an equally popular solo career. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, on December 21, 1995, and lived in America for several years during his childhood. Joining iKon in 2015, he took an active role in the group's songwriting and helped push the band's debut album, Welcome Back, to the top of the charts in South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan. One year later, he formed MOBB with fellow rapper Mino. The duo's self-titled debut, The MOBB, debuted at Number 2 on the Gaon Album Chart and Number 1 on the Billboard World Albums chart in 2016, with the singles "HOLUP!," "Body," "Hit Me," and "Full House" all reached the Top 10 on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart. Continuing to explore new sounds, Bobby returned to the charts in 2017, this time as a solo artist. Love and Fall, his debut album, was released in September 2017 and reached Number 4 in South Korea, as well as Number 2 on the Billboard World Albums chart. Bobby wrote all 10 of the album's songs, including the Top 40 K-pop single "I Love You." His 2021 follow-up album, Lucky Man, also peaked at Number 4. Two years later, he kickstarted a multi-part series of EPs with S.i.R., which hit Number 8 and featured the songs "Drowning" and "Cherry Blossom." Robert followed later that year. Songs from releases appeared on 2024's Sir.Robert, a full-length album that debuted at number 39 on South Korea's Circle Album Chart.
