Andrea Padova
Andrea Padova is an Italian composer and pianist. He studied composition with Franco Donatoni, and piano with Vincenzo Vitali, Aldo Ciccolini, and Eric Larsen at the National Academy of St. Cecilia in Rome. Active in contemporary music, Padova has worked with Pierre Boulez, Goffredo Petrassi, and Leonard Bernstein, while also performing early music according to historical practices. Winner of the 1995 J.S. Bach International Piano Competition, Padova went on to play recitals and concerts around the world, including appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Washington Performing Arts Library, La Scala, the Academy of St. Cecilia, the Early Music Festival in Urbino, the Vienna Festival of New Music, and many other important venues. Padova records for the Stradivarius label.
