In 2015, Houndmouth were already making a name for themselves with their retro album Little Neon Limelight with their fifties rock sounds.

This time around, the trio composed of Matt Myers, Shane Cody and Zak Appleby return with a futuristic pop album entitled Golden Age. At the height of their creativity, they maintain the vintage side but pump it up with electric sounds from the year 2050.

Yes, Houndmouth jump back and forth through time to project their vision of a future where humans… regress? With This Party, the group tries to escape from a futuristic party that looks more like a prison: a metaphor that these young Americans use to criticize the current society in which everyone exposes themselves, looks like one another and ends up living under an imposed control.

Throughout Golden Age, Houndmouth approaches the term modernity, as explored extensively on Modern Love, where they examine society’s approach to relationships and the doubts that technology can cause. In short, underneath their carefree hipster guise, the three Houndmouths have a whole lot of things to say.
