Australian-American-British trio known simply as The Acid embark on an electro soul journey to dreamland ... Obviously, acid is generally defined through its specific reaction with another type of complementary chemical compound. This Acid, however, reacts with an infinite list of compounds... Behind the name hides somewhat of an international triumvirate led by the Australian Ry Cummings, aka X RY, a young guru of a soul and electro pop, with two experienced DJs: British man Adam Freeland (whose mix 1998 Coastal Breaks II is considered a top breakbeat) as well as Californian producer Steve Nalepa (who notably worked for The Weeknd and Drake and teaches music most of the time). After several attractive singles, which set up an admirable platform and formula for success, the three musicians publish their first album effort together entitled Liminal (A Qobuz Choice available in 24-bit Studio Master!). The album itself could not be more sleekly produced and will captivate fans of James Blake, Sohn, Bon Iver and all these productions of the 2010s that reconciled electronic textures with ambiental sounds and heavenly vocals...
