The daughter of Ravi Shankar pays tribute to migrants with her sitar...

Just a few months after the appropriately titled Home was released in the summer of 2015, marking her return to the fold of Indian classical music by magnifying the art of raga taught by her illustrious father, Anoushka Shankar returns to the subtle fusion universe she so adores with Land Of Gold. A record evocative of the humanitarian drama of displaced persons fleeing conflict and poverty. An issue that Anoushka Shankar wanted to address... Once again she produces a sublime musical blend of Indian and Western elements. Surrounded by renowned guests (percussionist Manu Delago, jazz bassist Larry Grenadier, rapper M.I.A. and even the actress Vanessa Redgrave), the daughter of master Ravi Shankar weaves poetically intense melodies with her sitar.
