The international CES fair in Los Angeles opened its doors on 5 January, with the products on show becoming available throughout the course of the show. Parrot has unveiled their ZIK Sport, a rather unusual set of headphones which looks uncannily like a doctor’s stethoscope – which is no coincidence.

Parrot is riding high at the moment and is looking to strike while the iron is hot. After the much-talked-about launch of the ZIK 2.0, which has been comprehensibly tested by our team, the manufacturer is releasing a set of headphones which is designed specifically with a sports angle in mind (the device weighing in at only 70g).

You could argue that this type of product already exists, which would be correct; however, the bizarre appearance of the Parrot device, which looks like a stethoscope branded with Starke’s signature, shows that the ZIK Sport does more than just play music!

The ZIK Sport headphones are wireless and include a range of biometric sensors designed to record heart rate (a concept from Quantified Self). It also offers an analysis of the workout: downward or upward slopes, pace, and more!

We will of course be testing the ZIK Sport and letting you know the verdict!
