Nights Like These
Taking influence from bands like Converge, Between the Buried and Me, and Darkest Hour, Nights Like These sprung out of Memphis, TN, with their own unforgiving blend of heavy metal and hardcore. Comprised of vocalist Billy Bottom, guitarists Matt Qualls and Derren Saucier, bassist Sebastian Rios, and drummer Patrick Leatherwood, the band built themselves a strong local following -- regularly playing to packed crowds -- with only a three-song demo to their name. Sharing stages along the way with bands like the Red Chord, Skinless, and Poison the Well, Nights Like These soon caught the attention of Chicago's Victory Records. They joined the label's roster in February 2006 and entered the studio with Andreas Magnusson (the Black Dahlia Murder, Reflux) to craft their full-length debut. The Faithless, an aptly named album that expressed the bleak life outlook exhibited in the band's lyrics, arrived in June 2006. Summer and early fall was subsequently spent supporting the record on an extensive nationwide tour.
