John Casken
Casken studied at the University of Birmingham and also at the Warsaw Conservatory under a Polish government scholarship. His early compositions were influenced by contemporary Polish composers, but his work in the 1970s shows a development of a more personal style that is flexibly serial. An example of this new style is his instrumental work Music for the Crabbing Sun (1974).
