The brothers Plancarte’s 2011 release features the heart-wrenching “Adiós” as its key track -- and lead single -- but Un Siglo de Amor takes a look at love from many angles while adding a couple other topics to the mix. Expanding the popular Michoacan’s band horizons, “Madlita Economía” pines for better economic times while “Borracho Alegre” understands that the drinking must continue until happiness is achieved. Past these diversions, it’s all matters of the heart, from the instantly infectious title track to the nostalgic “Como Cuando Éramos Novios,” which looks to recapture that initial romantic spark from “back when we were dating.” Satisfying from start to finish, this is arguably one of the most well-balanced releases in the Tierra Cali catalog.
