The fourth album from the Toyah Willcox-fronted band Toyah, 1982’s The Changeling continued the new wave sonics of its predecessor, adding gloomier overtones and a darker emotional current to the group’s core sound. Recorded at Roundhouse Recording Studios in North London’s Chalk Farm, the album was released in June 1982, peaking at number six on the U.K. Albums Chart shortly thereafter. It was expanded in 2023 for an extensive deluxe edition featuring "work in progress" mixes of the album’s material, deluxe tracks, and varied video content.
