The score to Kevin Williamson's disastrous directorial debut Teaching Mrs. Tingle suffers from many of the same flaws as the film -- it's slow, obvious, witless, didactic and isn't engaging. Don't blame composer John Frizzell who was just doing his job. In fact, he did his job too well -- he's come up with a score that nearly matches the film's emotional tenor. There is one major difference, though. On its own, the score may be dull listening, but at least it isn't inane, which the film most certainly is.
