On their fifth studio album, Tacheles, German pop band MIA. reconcile the glossy electro-pop direction of their previous two records, 2006's Zirkus and 2008's Willkommen im Club, with the edgier, rockier elements of their first two albums, 2002's Hieb & StichFEST and 2004's Stille Post. Some cuts lean more toward a guitar-oriented sound ("Aufruhr"), while others put more emphasis on the electronic elements ("Das Haus," "Immer Wieder"), but most of the tracks combine the two approaches into electro-rock anthems (such as "Fallschirm," the first single) and intense ballads ("Brüchiges Eis"). Tacheles entered the German album charts at number three.
